Terms & cancellation

Last updated 21 October 2026

These are the simple terms that apply when Keith looks after your dog at Star Paws Dog Walking. If anything isn't clear, just email contact@starpawsdogwalkingleeds.co.uk and ask.

1. Services

  • One-to-one walks. Only your dog is walked, never with other customers' dogs.
  • Same household walks. Up to 3 dogs from the same household walked together.
  • Home visits. A visit to your home to let your dog out, feed, give medication or keep them company.

2. Free meet and greet

Before any walk or visit, Keith will come to your home to meet you and your dog or dogs. This is free and there is no obligation. It lets us both check that we are a good match, and gives you the chance to ask questions. Walks and visits begin once we are both happy.

3. Booking

All enquiries and bookings are made by email. A booking is confirmed when Keith replies by email to agree the day and time. You can book a single walk or visit, or a regular weekly slot.

4. Prices and payment

  • Home visits: £13 per hour
  • One-to-one walks: £14 per hour
  • Same household walks (maximum of 3 dogs): £14 per hour plus £7 per additional dog

An invoice will be sent by email after the service. Payment is due on receipt of the invoice, unless we agree something different in writing.

5. Cancellation notice

  • 24 hours' notice or more: no charge. Please cancel or change a booking by email at least 24 hours before it is due to start.
  • Less than 24 hours' notice: the full price of the booked walk or visit may be charged.
  • Weekly bookings: to stop or pause a regular weekly slot, please email with 24 hours' notice before the next booked slot.
  • If Keith needs to cancel (for example because of illness or severe weather), you'll be told as soon as possible and offered another time. You won't be charged for a walk or visit that doesn't happen.

6. Your dog's health and behaviour

  • Please tell Keith about anything that affects your dog's care: health conditions, medication, allergies, and any nervous, reactive or escape-prone behaviour.
  • Dogs should be wearing a collar or harness with an ID tag and be microchipped.
  • Your dog should be up to date with vaccinations and flea and worming treatment.
  • For safety, dogs are kept on the lead unless it has been agreed that it is safe to let them off.
  • If your dog becomes ill or injured, Keith will contact you straight away. If urgent treatment is needed and you can't be reached, Keith may take your dog to a vet, and you agree to pay reasonable veterinary costs.

7. Access to your home

For home visits and collections, you'll agree with Keith how to get in, for example a key or a keysafe. Keys are kept secure and returned or held as agreed. Please make sure there is no other reason Keith would be unable to get in at the agreed time.

8. Care and responsibility

Keith will take reasonable care of your dog at all times. Keith can't be held responsible for injury, illness or loss that couldn't reasonably have been prevented. This doesn't affect any rights you have under the law.

9. Your information

The details you email are used only to arrange and carry out the service, and to send invoices. They are not shared with anyone else.

10. Questions or complaints

If something isn't right, please email contact@starpawsdogwalkingleeds.co.uk as soon as you can so it can be put right.
